যমুনা-কূলে মধুর মধুর মুরলী সখী বাজিল।
মাধব নিকুঞ্জচারী শ্যাম বুঝি আসে –
কদম্ব তমাল নব-পল্লবে সাজিল॥
ময়ূর তমাল-তলে পেখম খোলে,
ব্যাকুলা গোপ-বালা শুনিয়া সে তান,
যুগ যুগ ধরি যেন শ্যাম
বাঁশরি বাজায় গো,
বাঁশিতে শ্যাম মোরে যাচিল॥
